“The truth,Natalie,”Brandon said,his even tone somehow sounding threatening
“Okay,okay.I skipped lunch!”Natalie quickly folded and confessed.She looked up at Brandon with apologetic eyes and said,”I’m sorry.Ill remember to eat next time,I promise.”
Brandon let out a helpless sigh.He knew Natalie well.Once she was immersed in something, everything else faded into the background,even herself.It was not the first time she had forgotten to take care of herself when she was at work. Stroking her hair tenderly,Brandon said,”IIl cook for you tonight.”
Natalie nodded and smiled gratefully.Then,her gaze went to the time on her computer,and she chuckled awkwardly,”I still need another half an hour to finish everything.”
Brandon raised an eyebrow and followed Natalie’s gaze to the time displayed on the screen.A light chuckle also escaped him,but his tone was stern when he said,”Miss White,work hours are only until 8 PM.You have 30 minutes left,and you are not allowed to go overtime.Understood?”
Natalie immediately dived into work once again.
As he watched her,her eyes fixed on the screen and a small furrow in her brows,the corner of
Brandon’s lips curled up into an unconscious smile.
Although Jeremys statement after the Turner
Group’s bankruptcy was clearly provocative,it also served as an indirect confirmation that Brandon’s plan had worked.Jeremy was thoroughly irritated after the Turner Group collapsed.
This was good news for Brandon.

Brandon indulgently pinched Natalie’s tender soft cheek and playfully challenged her,”Guess.
Natalie’s frustration grew as she pouted and raised her little fists,ready to pound his chest.”Don’t keep me in suspense!Justtell me what’s going on!” “Fine,fine…”Brandon relented and held Natalie’s small hand.”Ive just been worried about Jeremy and Suzanne’s issue.”
Natalie had some knowledge of Jeremy and Suzanne’s relationship.She also knew that Brandon might have had a hand in the downfall of the Turner Group
In spite of that,she couldn’t understand why he was so concerned with them,considering that the Turner Group had already fallen,and that Jeremy and Suzanne were only small fry.Why was he acting like he was facing a formidable foe?
Natalie mulled over all this and asked him directly.
Brandon vaguely replied,”I’m worried that they might act recklessly and harm you.”
In reality,what he truly feared was the mysterious pharmacist who lurked behind Jeremy and
Suzanne.
This mystery figure had a very calm and composed demeanor. So far,he hadn’t revealed any vulnerabilities,and had the ability to develop a variety of highly dangerous drugs,making him a serious threat

With a skeptical look on her face,Natalie asked,

His words made Natalie feel warm inside,forcing her lips to slowly curl up into a smile.
“Since you’re being so considerate,I won’t ask any more questions.”As she spoke,she wrapped her arms around his rneck and whispered affectionately,”Once I’m done with the fashion week abroad,Ill come right back and spend quality time with you.”
Upon hearing this,Brandon’s heart skipped a beat. “Abroad?Is the fashion week going to be held abroad this time?”he inquired.
Natalie nodded with a gleam of excitement in her eyes.”Yes,it’ll take place in Paris this time.It’s a designer’s paradise,with renowned designers from all over the world making an appearance!I’ll see a lot of masterpieces on the runway and learn a lot of new things!”
As he listened to her excited voice,Brandon’s heart began to beat faster and faster.A bad feeling gradually enveloped it,growing so intense that he couldn’t ignore it.
